Biography
Biography Dr. Ola Mousa is currently an associate professor at King Faisal University, College of Applied Medical Sciences- Nursing Department, Saudi Arabia. She started her career in Minia University, Egypt and taught there for 13 years from 2000 to 2013. She earned her master's from Ain Shams University, Egypt, and PhD degree from Assiut University, Egypt with a specialization in Maternal and Women's Health Nursing. Her expertise in healthcare professions extends over 23 years, both nationally and internationally. Her area of interest in research is Maternity Nursing, Women and Adolescent Health, and mothers of children with special needs. She participated in organizing many scientific days and conferences, as a resource speaker. In addition to publishing more than 45 papers in significant journals, including those indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, she has presented research articles at numerous national and international conferences. She served as an editorial board member and reviewer in many journals. In addition to being a thesis advisor, she is a research guide for MSN students. Over the past seven years, she has been responsible for community engagement and participation in activities with special needs pupils and caregivers. A distinguished faculty award was recently received (2020) from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia. Presently, she is teaching at King Faisal University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the chairperson of the Community Engagement Committee, and deputy of the Students' activity committee. She is a supporter of students and cares for their needs as a chairperson of the Guidance and Skills Development Unit. Teaching Philosophy Dr. Ola Mousa philosophy of teaching is to produce an environment that allows for students' self-learning. She hopes to reach reality in her classroom. She believes that the most important learning occurs when the teacher and student work together to accomplish excellence in teaching and learning. As a teacher, she believes that the responsibility toward students is to understand their needs and abilities.
