Dr. Sumanth S. Hiremath is serving as Associate Professor and Chairman (Head) of the Department of Sociology at Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, Karnataka State, INDIA. Additionally, he holds the position of Nodal Officer for the Youth Red Cross Wing of the University. Dr. Sumanth has more than 17 years of teaching & research experience. His research interests are Elite Studies, Sociology of Environment, Urban Sociology, Sociology of Ageing, Sociology of Gender, Higher Education, and ICT. He has presented 127 research papers at international, national, and state-level conferences. He has delivered about 45 special lectures across India and abroad. He has organised 04 national seminars, and 01 international webinar, and many health and environmental awareness programmes. Dr. Sumanth is the author of 02 books & co-editor of 02 books. He has published 72 research papers in internationally reputed journals and has a good number of citations. He is an 'Associate Editor', 'Journal Reviewer', and 'Editorial Board Member' of various international journals of repute. Educational Discourse? held at Taylor?s University, Kulalumpur, Malaysia. He was a ?Panellist? in the ?Panel Discussion? at the same event. Dr. Sumanth is an 'Academic Member' of the 'Athens Institute for Education & Research, Athens, Greece. He is associated as a 'Life Member' to the 'International Sociological Association', 'Indian Sociological Society', 'Karnataka Sociology Association', 'Association of Gerontology', and 'Indian Red Cross Society'. As part of an academic visit, he visited Toronto, Canada; Bangkok, Thailand; New York, United States of America; Melbourne, Australia; and Kulalumpur, Malaysia. Dr. Sumanth is known for his student mentoring activities. He is an active blood (AB '-' ve) donor and is known for his social service.
